Dr. Kristiina Visbal, DACM, L.Ac, Integrative Medicine Clinician
Dr. Kristiina Visbal is a Doctor of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine and licensed acupuncturist based in Los Angeles. She practices integrative medicine, combining Traditional Chinese Medicine with Western medical understanding to support patients seeking a more comprehensive understanding of their health.
She earned her B.A. in Psychology from the University of Colorado Boulder, where her interest in the mind-body connection first developed, and later completed her doctorate in Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine at Pacific College of Health and Science in San Diego.
Dr. Visbal completed over 4,000 hours of doctoral-level training over five years, including education in both Traditional Chinese Medicine and Western biomedical sciences. Her advanced clinical training includes rotations through UC San Diego Health, Jacobs Medical Center, UTC Digestive Diseases, UCSD Hillcrest Medi-Cal Clinics, and Pacific College’s Integrative Medicine Center. At these sites, Dr. Visbal treated hundreds of patients across oncology, palliative care, fertility, metabolic health, weight management, pain management, autoimmune conditions, stress-related concerns, and pre- and post-surgical recovery. Her collaboration with MDs, RNs, and specialists has helped patients navigate care plans that integrate conventional medical treatment with acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine.
Dr. Visbal incorporates lab findings alongside the principles of Chinese medicine to develop personalized treatment plans that may include acupuncture, custom herbal formulas, nutrition, and lifestyle support. She is known for explaining complex health concerns in a clear, practical way, helping patients feel more informed and involved in their care.
Her goal is to help patients make sense of their symptoms and move forward with a treatment plan that feels realistic, supportive, and tailored to the individual.
